Dealer Direct, the powersports lending division of First Community Bank, is expanding its sales team after growing its dealer network from 1,950 in January to 2,500 last month, Senior Vice President and Manager Steve Wilcoxon told Powersports Finance.
Dan Hart this week joined the company in the newly created role of national sales representative. Hart joins the current two-person sales team and the company said it will add to the staff in 2019. Hart will concentrate on maintaining and growing Dealer Direct’s dealer base in the the northeast as well as Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee.
Dealer Direct is a prime lender that works with dealers and OEMs, including Hisun Motors and American Landmaster. The lender credits its growth this year to a “boots on the ground” approach — having sales reps and underwriters build personal relationships with dealers through daily phone calls and face-to-face interactions, Wilcoxon said.
“I always pride myself on the relationships we build,” Wilcoxon added. “I want all of my staff to have a network of dealers … and be involved with their dealer ‘family,’ if you will. The personal touch is still big in this business.”
