Intimidator UTV has added TGB Engine Co.’s 1000cc engine to its GC1K and GC1K Crew Series UTVs, and a sampling of East Coast dealers expect that oomph to aid in sales.
The TGB 1000 V-Twin engine can power speeds up to 65 miles per hour, which has “definitely impressed” shoppers, Brian Stewart, a salesman at Atlantic & Southern Equipment in Goldsboro, N.C., told Powersports Finance. The engine is enough to “get them over the curb,” he added, despite reservations over the one-year warranty. By comparison, Polaris typically offers three-to-five-year warranties.
North Venice, Fla.-based Sarasota Fun Machines “absolutely” expects sales to increase with the new lineup, Account Manager Jeff Roe told PSF, though he declined to quantify how much. Intimidator, as an OEM, is “far superior to any other UTV” manufacturer with whom the dealership has worked, he said.

However, Hoosick Falls, N.Y.-based JC Tractor Repair & Restoration has a more muted expectation for the crew series. Owner John Cipperley expects UTV sales to remain steady. It’s “just an additional item to choose from,” he explained.
All three dealerships use Sheffield Financial to finance Intimidators. Dealer Direct Financial and Roadrunner Financial also offer financing for Intimidator UTVs.
The base price for a GC1K series Intimidator with a TGB engine is $15,399. A GC1K Crew series Intimidator with a TGB engine costs $16,719. Dealer Direct financing rates start at 0% for 48 months, while Sheffield financing rates start at 1.99% for 36 months.
