Department of the Interior Promotes Powersports Recreation [VIDEO]

The U.S. Department of the Interior is giving outdoor recreation a new look for the 21st-century, releasing a video that spotlights powersports.

In 2017, outdoor industries such as the Motorcycle Industry Council, Specialty Vehicle Institute of America, and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association have been meeting with Secretary Ryan Zinke and officials from Interior and the U.S. Forest Service to develop ways to improve the visitor experience at public lands. The MIC, SVIA, and ROHVA became founding members of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable in February, with the mission to promote legislation and policy reform to enhance the outdoor recreation economy.

The Department of Interior and the ORR have “worked hard to make powersports an even more recognized outdoor activity on public lands, and this new video really showcases that effort,” said Tim Buche, president and chief executive of MIC.

The ORR is asking for all riders to watch the video, titled “Recreation’s New Look,” and share it through Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels.

Check out the video below, which shows off sports bikes and UTVs, and see how the Department of the Interior is putting emphasis on powersports this summer.
