John McCormick Joins Royal Media to Manage Content Production

NEW YORK, NY (October 10, 2018) — John McCormick, a seasoned content executive, has joined Royal Media as Editorial Director.

McCormick comes to Royal from SourceMedia, where he had the same title for 10 years. He was also a long-time senior editor at Ziff Davis.

As Royal’s Editorial Director, a newly created position, McCormick will take responsibility for all Royal content production, including editorial and event content, and across all three of Royal’s content verticals: air cargo, auto finance, and financial technology. Royal’s Senior Editors will now report to McCormick.

“This is one of the most significant hires in Royal’s more than 20-year history,” said JJ Hornblass, Royal CEO. “We have never had a true Editorial Director, and certainly not one with John’s rich background. We are fortunate — and thrilled — to have him on our team.”

McCormick formally began his tenure on Oct. 8 and is working out of Royal’s New York office. He is expected to play a pivotal operational role as Royal seeks additional acquisitions.
