Motive Retail Releases Dealer System Integration Solution

Motivcanstockphoto1170705e Retail announced the release of Powersports Data Standards (PDS), a standards-based solution for integrating systems across the powersports industry, Glenn Gulau, Motive’s marketing manager, told Powersports Finance.

The system offers automated tools to accelerate system integrations and dealer management systems, Gulau said. PDS can also help dealers increase F&I sales and boost financial partnerships by allowing the dealerships’ financing software to be integrated into the system. With PDS, the data can flow from the financing system back into the dealership’s main system to create a unified network.

PDS was developed in conjunction with manufacturers BRP, Kawasaki, and Polaris — with BRP at the helm of the ongoing project. The first set of interfaces rolled out in the first quarter of 2015, and the second set of interfaces are projected to be launched within the next few months, Gulau said. “We are not able to release what the second set will be. Essentially what’s happened is we [Motive Retail] and the OEMs are prioritizing what will be most valuable to dealers.”

The current set of interfaces includes a parts inventory, parts locator, and vehicle specifications — which allows dealers the ability to input a VIN number and receive that vehicle’s data at their fingertips, Gulau said. “As dealers begin to adopt these systems there will be more and more of these interfaces introduced.”

Louisville, Colo.-based Motive Retail provides system integration solutions to dealer systems, global manufacturers, and software providers.
