Regulation Experts to Give Compliance Update at PowerSports Finance 2018

David Gemperle, partner at Nisen & Elliot LLC, and John Redding, partner at Buckley Sandler LLP will take the stage and provide lenders with an update on compliance matters during a presentation at the upcoming PowerSports Finance 2018.

Gemperle and Redding will discuss the latest developments in compliance and regulations issues on a panel called “Regulatory Compliance Update.” The duo will touch on topics such as the ongoing changes to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, juggling requirements for stiffer state regulation, and Military Lending Act ramifications on lease termination.

Gemperle supports finance companies in connection with federal and state law compliance issues related to their motor vehicle, motorcycle, and powersports lease and retail installment sale programs. His experience covers a wide range of topics, including obtaining licenses, responding to examinations and complaints, federal lease, loan, and retail installment disclosure compliance, and collection and repossession notices and procedures. He’s also the author of a monthly compliance report, which covers all legal developments directly impacting motor vehicle finance.

Redding is based in Buckley Sandler LLP’s Los Angeles office and is the firm’s lead on auto finance. He has more than 20 years of experience in financial services, having been president of RLC Professionals and general counsel for Retail Pro Inc. Redding regularly advises the financial industry on regulatory and compliance matters involving the Dodd-Frank Act and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Trade Commission, and other state and federal laws and requirements.
