Social Media Brings Increased Communication With Customers, Dealer Says

Arlington Motorsports has made it an initiative to be more active on social media, and the result thus far has brought increased attention and communication with consumers, Chief Executive Kip Niles told Powersports Finance.

“We’ve been on Facebook for quite a while, but we just joined [Facebook] Marketplace in the last 30 days or so, and that really kicked up the interest with people contacting us,” Niles said. “Any time of the day or night, people will ask, ‘Do you still have this motorcycle?’ ‘Do you have financing?’ ‘How much do I need down?'”

Facebook Marketplace is a listing platform for Facebook users to buy and sell items. Arlington Motorsports began advertising its products on Marketplace one month ago after noticing that it was an inexpensive option to generate leads and reach more consumers. While it is too early to say if the initiative has boosted sales at the dealership, the experience and feedback have been positive, Niles said.

Based in Arlington, TX, the dealership sells motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs from brands such as BMW, Polaris, Suzuki, and Yamaha. Arlington Motorsports works with a number of lenders that include Yamaha Motor Finance Corp. USA, Synchrony Financial, MotoLease, and Model Finance Company.
