Jason Guss is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Octane® (Octane Lending Inc.®), the fintech company that is revolutionizing the buying experience in underserved markets.
Combining cutting-edge technology and innovative risk strategies with friendly, expert service, Octane connects people with their passions by making lifestyle purchases – like recreational vehicles and outdoor power equipment – fast, easy, and accessible.
Through its tech-enabled lending platform and in-house lender, Roadrunner Financial, Inc.®, Octane delivers a seamless digital-to-retail buying experience that benefits customers, merchants, and manufacturers. The company adds value throughout the customer journey: inspiring millions of enthusiasts with its editorial brands, including Cycle World® and UTV Driver®, instantly prequalifying consumers for financing on dealer and OEM websites, routing customers to dealerships for an easy closing experience, and supporting customers through the life of their loan with superior loan servicing.
Since its founding in 2014, Jason has overseen Octane’s vision, strategy, and culture, and led the company to achieve resounding success. After gaining significant traction in Powersports, Octane expanded into Outdoor Power Equipment (OPE), beginning with zero-turn mowers in 2018, and adding tractors and trailers in 2022; it is poised to enter additional markets. The fast-growing company currently partners with 30+ OEMs and 4,000+ dealers and makes financing accessible by covering more credit-worthy customers than other national lenders.
Under Jason’s leadership, Octane raised its Series D round in May 2021, bringing its valuation to $900 million, and it closed 2021 GAAP net income positive. Octane is a remote-first company with over 550 employees and offices in California, New York, and Texas.
Prior to Octane, Jason worked at Capital One in Corporate Strategy. Additionally, Jason is a Board member of Petal and an avid supporter of the fintech community.
