ThunderRoad hires sales director to double dealer network

ThunderRoad Financial has hired Harley-Davidson Financial Services veteran Denise Presley as director of North American sales, with the goal of growing the dealer network, President and Chief Executive Donal Hummer told Powersports Finance.

In the new role, Presley will be responsible for visiting dealerships, explaining ThunderRoad’s programs, and provide F&I training. The position was created to help dealers increase their profits through finance at a time when “the dealers’ margins are being squeezed by the OEMs in terms of wholesale cost versus retail selling price,” Hummer said.

“While our programs and systems are very intuitive for the dealers and much of the training can be done via phone and web demonstrations, nothing beats having a qualified person in the field to help the dealers navigate F&I,” Hummer added. “It also helps us get valuable feedback on what is working and what is not.”

One of Presley’s top priorities will be to double the dealer base in the next 12 months. The lender works with 500 dealers in 26 states.

Prior to joining ThunderRoad, Presley spent 20 years with Harley-Davidson Financial Services as regional manager of the southeast region. Presley worked at the captive at the same time as Hummer, which led to her eventual hiring at ThunderRoad.
